What was the biggest challenge you faced creating your store?
I had some trouble setting up a Product Review App and after some research it seems the app wasn't compatible with my theme version. I think it would be beneficial for merchants to know which apps are compatible with vintage vs OS 2.0 themes. Perhaps adding tags to themes would be helpful for when merchants are selecting a theme so they are aware of the apps that are compatible with their website beforehand.
What worked really well when using our platform?
There is almost always a resource or external page to help guide the merchant if they are stuck on a problem. This makes the troubleshooting process much faster and smoother. The internal logo maker is also great for new merchants and makes the large task of creating a brand much less daunting!
What could be improved when using our platform?
I found that I had to keep going back and forth between tabs which slowed down productivity. For instance, if I wanted to change the image of a collection through my theme editor, I would have to go back to the admin page and access the Collections tab in order to change it, save it, and then return back to my original tab to see my changes. If everything could be accessed through one tab I think that would be much more productive.
How did this experience help you build empathy for our merchants?
This experience has been a great foundation for understanding merchants’ needs. I’ve noticed that customers usually spot improvements that developers may overlook. As a future developer, I think it was important to experience being a merchant and with this understanding I can cater to their needs for their business to thrive.
